I know that blackberry users can use their phone as modems but it is like $40 a month to use which is kinda crappy. There are two different companies that I know of that sell products to work in place of expensive Phone as modem plans. The only thing I have done is bought the stuff to use it for myself, only thing I get is someone might save some cash and be able to use their laptop while traveling. One thing, make sure you have a data plan with your phone otherwise your gonna eat it on your next phone bill.

https://junefabrics.com/ (Windows mobile, Palm OS and Iphone)

https://www.mobile-stream.com/usbmodem.html (Palm OS)

Both use the cables to connect or bluetooth, and you can try them both for like 2 weeks for free I believe.

I use this with my Treo 755p and depending on what kind of signal you have speeds can get pretty good. I wouldn't mention it to your phone company if you use one of these, I don't know if they approve :)

64bit Windows users, the one offered at junefabrics is not compatible yet for palm, look at usbmodem.

I have been using PDAnet for years. My laptop connects to the internet through my Palm Centro at 2.4Mbps. Not too shabby. My Sprint data plan is only $10 month for unlimited access.

If a person is using a Windows Mobile phone, they need to look for a piece of software, on the phone, called Internet Sharing. Later model phones by At&T have had it removed, but grey market phones should still have it and the phones from Cingular before the takeover. It isn't always easy to find, but Windows Mobile was meant to have it as part of the package. Run the software while the phone is linked either by cable or bluetooth, click connect and away you go. Easy as it gets.

Just a continued thought on this line of thinking. Using it now actually since I am at work..............

I have been using this feature for a while now with my original Blackjack and now with my grey market HTC.
