Hmmmm.... Smitty is supposed to show up at the "Wild Wild West!" on a 2006 FJR1300.

But if he arrives in Ely on a Kool-Aid bike, well..... we'll be sure to heap tons of derision on him for y'all! ;)

Gruss Gott, BeemerDonS

thought I translate the gay German (especially gay is "Sie werden warm gegruesst" :dribble: ) must have been a google translate Beemerdons?

Willkommen Smitty! Juli.

Herzliche Gruesse

I'm so rusty with my German Alfredo, I had to cobble my text together from Lonely Planet Phrasebook, 2nd Edition. When I lived in Bavaria, all conversations ended with Gruss Gott - God's Blessing. Is that no longer the case? (I also noticed I used meinen instead of mein, big OOPS!) I should have had petey from Oklahoma proofread this by private message before sending it!

HIJACK: Did you see the Gen1 FJR for sale here in Arizona? I will be right back with the link, since your purchase of the BMW K1100LT fell through! https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=130392

Check this FJR out, if you are still interested in keeping a bike here in the American Southwest! I actually saw this on Tuesday and called SkooterG immediately as a replacement for his damaged "Dirty Old Whore", but two days have passed and he has not moved on this. However, I leave for Oregon and the BMW Rally this Monday 7/12; would have to check this FJR out for you before I depart.

With all due respect, Smitty is beyond help.

HTH,

esb
esb, Steve McQueen always said that he who dies with the most bikes: WINS! I think that Steve-O meant in a collection, not consecutively, but still: SMITTY IS A WINNER!!!

You have a point, Don.

We already have a thread about most miles on an FJR. Seems to me that Smitty would have no chance in such a competition, since even if he ran one at Warchild's record 10.500 miles/week pace, his average length of ownership (~ 6.5 weeks, I think) would make it impossible.

Having said that, there are a number of records Smitty could easily already have set for posterity. Most new bikes in a year, most in a season, most different styles of bikes, fewest underwear changes per motorcycle acquisition, most FJRs owned, etc. (Might only have to qualify that competition by limiting it to those bikes that the owner rides more than once or twice, so as to make it a fair competition not weighted in favor of billionaire collectors or dealership owners. With that limitation, is there even a close competitor?)

I think Smitty already has all the awards his ego needs.

I may have heard wrong, but I thought Smitty competed on a National level in enduro something or another, I think. It wouldn't surprise me...as good as he can ride.

Smitty, Smitty...this is no big surprise  , but, how about some pics of your new ride. <_<

WTF......Smitty is just making too much money these days....
R

Do I detect jealousy? Smitty- go ahead and let your bike addiction rage. You know we are all jealous.
Absolutely great call, Barry! :clapping:

I'm enjoying every bike he buys and modifies. It's a vicarious life but it's a full one.
