Did anyone see the news about the snow in Upstate New York? Snow has been falling at a rate of 5" per hour! Eight feet expected. Wow.

Yeah, I saw that. The report said they got 5 feet since Sunday and are expecting another 3 feet before its over with. They had to close down 81 for 18 hours because they couldn't clear it quick enough. The irony is that most of the snow is falling around Mexico, NY. I wonder how that place got its name....I used to live up in the Finger Lakes and remember some pretty good storms but nothing like that.

Sorry to hear about all the snow everyone is getting. In the past I've felt the pain you are experiencing. As a neighbor of yours here in New England I can't tell you how tickled I am to see someone other than us getting all that snow! Sorry skiers and snowmobilers. Right now we are on track to have the least amount of snow ever. Keep up the good work Mother Nature.

I'm just over 100 miles east of Mexico and we don't even have a dusting! I just can't imagine eight feet of snow.

Hey y'all in upstate New York... I really feel for you.

In fact today, while I drove in to work here in San Diego in 70 Degree weather, I had to battle the elements a bit myself.

At one point the sun was glaring so badly that even with my tinted visor I had to really squint. Man my eyes were killing me.

Frankly, it was a little traumatic.

I am resilient though and am going to go back ot there this afternoon and weather the elements all over again.

Thankfully, now that I have been here for ten years (formerly from NY), I have learned to prepare for our weather by always having sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. available.

When I used to drive in the wee hours from downstate NY to college in Albany, NY and I would see the signs that said "Albany 100 miles" ...

the only consolation was the line below that said "buffalo 388 miles"! :dribble:

at least i only have a 15 minute commute, too bad it has to be in my truck

Parish, NY (pop. 1000) has been making the national news again for snowfall. I grew up there, and promptly moved! One winter we had enough snow that if you stood on top of the snowbanks you were in the power lines. Now I am couple hours south, we have less than a foot of snow :yahoo:

it's snowing in my F***ing garage! I still had to put on my MCL fork brace, PIAA headlights, magnum blasters and Doug Hines risers. then i put on my helmet and made motorcycle noises. Then I cried.

I'm in Pulaski,NY. We've got 5' in the yard and more to come. I'm still trying to figure out how a south Mississippi boy ended up in northern NY :cold: . Gotta' tell ya' though, I'm glad I did. This has got to be the most glorious place to be in summer. Between sailing on Ontario and up on the St. Lawrence and riding some of the roads up here; you can't beat it. Guess I'll muddle through somehow. :thumbsupsmiley:

Only about a foot on the ground in Northern IL, but the temps are F'ing brutal. -20 Monday morning, so comparitavely the -2 this morning feels like a heat wave.
