So Cal Crest to Newcombs Sunday July 28th 2013

Meet at the SHELL gas station in La Canada/Flintridge at Hiway 2 and the 210 Freeway at about 8:15. The SHELL is right there when you exit the 210.

At about 8:30, ride one block West on Angeles Crest to the intersection of Foothill Blvd. and eat breakfast at the diner there, it's right at the Intersection of Foothill and Angeles Crest, can't remember the name

Meeting a few riding buds there and they are all "mature" good riders, no Squids.

Ride up to NEWCOMBS for a break then maybe more riding from there......I'll ride back home via WRIGHTWOOD later since I live Inland and South near Temecula.

Gonna miss you by a day. My wife and I will be doing a loop on Saturday to break in her new bike. We will be riding from wrightwood to Newcombs and then turn around and head back.

Ah...that's the way I usually go, up from Lone Pine Rd from the 15 and 138.

I usually ride on Saturday's but the Wife has this Saturday off and wants to cage it down to San Diego.

Sure. I was down to San Diego couple months ago to check out USS Midway aircraft carrier. Awesome war ship! Love it.

Hey that's an idea.....we've never visited any ships before down in SD.

Ok boys so far I have about 5 riders coming out for this ride (from another site) but no FJR representation besides me.

I just want to say that I rode the Angeles Crest Highway on Tuesday. I was on my way back to Phoenix after going to the MotoGP race at Laguna Seca over the weekend. I hadn't heard about the road, but it looked like a good way to make our way East from the 101 without hitting a lot of traffic near LA. What a fantastic road! There was a long stop for construction (about 20 minutes!), but otherwise there was little traffic and amazing views.

Awesome weather....Not too hot, had about 10 guys show from a couple sites......2 Kawi ZX10's, A Kawi Connie 14, 4 Kawi ZRX1200's A Kawi Connie 1000, and a couple other bikes one a Beemer i think.

Nice turnout at NEWCOMBS.

I think they open it for the weekends (or maybe just Sunday)as it was open with no workers at all, all the way across to WRIGHTWOOD and the CAJON PASS
