So Cal Lancaster to Kernville Sunday 8/11/13

Meet Sunday morning at 8:30 at CRAZY OTTO'S in Lancaster for Breakfast.

Then ride the 14 to Rosamond then take the back way to TEHACHAPI...gas up.....take the 58 towards Bakersfield to CALIENTE/BODFISH Rd.

Take that through hills and valleys past LAKE ISABELLA across the 178 to KERNVILLE for lunch.

Beautiful rds. and Scenery!!!

Ride home from there!

Jerry that Bodfish road past Isabella is one primo ride..........another guy and I did that a couple years ago and we're still talking about it.............running along the stream can't be beat........just be sure and have the cowcatcher hooked up..............lol.................

Pondering it, but its a long day and a lotta riding..................

Oh yeah LG great road!! I'm well aware of the open range up there, don't ask me how I know!

I'll be doing it again in October with about 20 other riders in a weekend annual KERNVILLE rally we do in memory of our riding buddy Frank Pepito who passed away while riding his Kawi ZRX1200 on Ortega in November 2003.

C'mon out to play LG, the day will go by FAST, you know you want to!!

Whew! Got home about 8PM......and 470 miles (surprised I thought it would be more) For me the stock seat isn't that bad.

Fantastic ride today!! Weather was great, not blazing Hot.....Just my Trumpet 800 TIGER riding friend George and I, and we had a great time!

I forgot how much I love riding Caliente/Bodfish with all the transition of elevation and scenic views of the valleys and Lk. Isabella from the hill tops! It's not a "haul ***" road in some areas but the scenery more than makes up for it! Some of the road is a little rough but some is paved nice and smooth.

George was never on it before and he wanted to ride it all day!!!

After we ate lunch at CHERYLS DINER in Kernville we headed back the desert way via the Sierra Highway on the other side of Lk. Isabella to the 178 and to the 395/14 from there through MOJAVE and LANCASTER and up and over through WRIGHTWOOD for me to the CAJON PASS. George lives in Rancho Pales Verdes and beat me home!

Doing a group ride weekend with about 25 guys in Kernville in October...can't wait!!!
