Okay, my ride.....loaded up the bike for a 200 mile ride. Wife 118 lbs., Jack Russell and kennel 15lbs. Minor clothes and goodies 10lbs. For my suspension, the major job of flicking lever from soft to hard. The ride....from Hailey, id to Salmon, via Stanley, 1 pass, ALL 2 lane, mostly curves, and the handleing was superb! FUN FACTOR 10. Did I mention a new MPG record, 56! I am so not sick of this bike. Happy Friday :yahoo:

DOGPILE... NOT!!! ;)

Welcome from SoCal.

I see you read that one thread. Welcome to the goofiest place on earth, The FJR Cyber World. :dribble:

Lots of great people and info.

Enjoy and ride safe.

One of my favorite places on the planet to ride. :D Even better on a bike that doesn't SUCK.

Yeah im completely not sick of winding that throttle up and listening to that jet turbine wind up.

I can wait to get this power commander, kn and full muzzy exhaust im gonna twist it even more.

58 to the gallon? *looks around and mumbles under breath* I get low thirties. Not trying to brag, just saying. I like this bike. I like to get in the throttle a little. Not enough curves around here so the fun sometimes comes from straight line acceleration.

56MPG! Please elaborate. Was that the computer readout or actual calculations? What was average speed? How fast was that tailwind? Over how great a distance was this.

After all, I routinely get 99MPG coming down out of the Sierras.

Just curious. Riding conservatively I might get 46. Not that it is killing my wallet, but 56 would be sweet.

Like I said, had my wife and dog on the back. The right hand was definately behaving! In Salmon, I refilled, after 198 miles it took 3.5 gallons. Not the most exact way to check MPG, but it is the way I do it. Most of the riding was at 5000' elevation. Bike is stock.

I don't know, I'm getting sick of hearing about what a great time the FJR is. Have a little pity on the crash club heh? :)

I'm so sick of the FJR!!!! :yahoo:

I spend days riding it, my face hurts from the smiles, my wrist hurts from all the twisting, and I wear out tires tooooooo fassst :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Glad I made the move!! :clapping: :clapping:

This bike sucks...all of the evil out of my work day when I get on it to ride home. This bike sucks...for the unsuspecting young cage drivers that think a bike with a top case must be a slug, and this bike sucks the most when my cruiser friends (I used to have one so I can say this) realize just how much fun a bike can be without needing an appointment with a chiropractor.

Damn I love this bike.

Went into the garage to go to work this morning and found that my FJR had been stolen. That's right! DH's R1200GS was parked, as was his Roadstar Warrior and his RT1100P. The FJR was gone - and so was his helmet. Could you believe that a bike that has been accused of so many terrible things this week, might be taken in preference to the above? Folks, this is a LOWERED bike.

I'll give him credit for bringing it back, although he had a big smile on his face. Got to work in 20 mins! (But he says that my bike needs a radar detector).

My complaints are few and picky, and my praises are many.

Though I have found it hard to rail against the evils of the corporate landscape when one of them can make something this cool.

Yeah we have a distaste for the FJR as well. Damn thing sux azz two up especially. All that comfort, available power without sacrificing handling. Absolutely horrible. And that throttle response. Who would ever want that much power with such a simple twist of the wrist. Not the to mention the ability to harass the straight up sportbikers in the tight and twisty canyons of socal TWO UP.

Horrid machine.....

:yahoo: As I road to work yesterday peg dancing my way through traffic. Hey, they were set up like traffic cones. Albiet moving at 70 MPH traffic cones but staggered just the same.

As I like to say, "the FJR is my ADULT responsible bike".

Yeah right! I've found that the lower the HP the more responsible-adult I'm able to be. On the 650 GS, I'm quite the model citizen with respect to speed limits etc. I wait in line patiently, smell the roses and generally take life easy.

I also have an FJR, to which none of the above applies. :yahoo:
