Furthermore, you also continue to duck every single iota of technical facts I've posted with citings, with examples, only to duck right back in and take a stab at one of my posts when you feel the need to beat your chest.....
Furthermore, what the hell are you doing in MY THREAD trying to DERAIL our conversations? LOL  :D   :D   :D (note to galxy5, this is what I was talking about when conveying humor)

Oh and ALL THIS TIME you could have just PM'ed me and politely asked me something, but since you didn't and ridiculed me AGAIN publicly I have no choice but to reply in kind.
My "Lighten up Francis" comment wasn't a joke....it was a serious nudge. Mellow out dude!

You're violating board guideline #4 :******: and #5 here. Mellow out or you aren't going to be wanted anymore and dealt with under #7.

Board Guidelines
Well all I can say is here we go again.... at the slightest sign of disagreement with (fill in the name), member (fill in the name) is going to be banned....

and who is the :******: again?

Pfft I think I'll take a little break from this forum myself until spring (good riddance they say in unison...he wasn't a true subject)

Hmmmm.........

#1) A seven day timeout is NOT banning.

#2) Your so called "slightest sign of disagreement" is ********. I would say that if anything, XJRGUY went way over the top. And in case you hadn't noticed, it was NOT dissenting opinion that got him into trouble, but a sarcastic, insulting, and accusatory tone and taking some cheap potshots at admin. (Kinda like you did)

IMHO of course.

Stay or go. Do as you please. But please, keep your little potshots to yourself. When you do those, it kind of ruins your whole "holier than though" image you are trying to promote.

Too da loo!

Puhleeze?? Thats kinda one sided, and really unbiased right?

LOL!!

I was routed here by a post on another MC forum and I re read the entire thing.

What a mess.

And who was egging who on here?

Gimme a break. Re read the thread.

XJ dude was posting legit info, and it only started getting heated when the mod here, whatever his name is started slingin' one liners at him.

Did you at least warn the guy? PM him? Something before he got the boot? What did you guys do to try and prevent it?

WTF?

Great.... now we have trolls being sent over here to cause dissention?
icon_rolleyes.gif

Well, let's see now... you have just joined the forum tonight, you provide no info about yourself, no intro post under the New Members forum, and admit that you were "routed here " right to this thread just so you can make one slam-gram post?

Right. See ya, troll........ <zzzzzzzzap!>

No offense guys, but there is some merit to these comments. XJR didn't diss out anything that wasn't thrown at him. Now boards are not even close to a democracy, but giving the chill time to someone becaue they give back what they receive, or because you don't agree is one of the reasons sleazyboard is now mostly deserted. If you can't take the heat, don't play with matches.

Now I'll go crawl back under my rock and use the board for what it's intended: gathering useful information.

A lot of you guys seem to be forgetting the first rule of forums:

MODs are always right.

The second rule is:

ADMINS are even more right than MODS.

And the third rule:

Even if the ADMINS and MODS are wrong, they're still ADMINS and MODS.

Choosing to not agree with the flock around here is sort of like sticking your nuts in a hornets nest. Glad I've been too busy riding my bike to be reading this stuff. mob mentality rules at every forum I've ever been to. Even the GrannyQuiltMakers forums!

I agree in this case...and I think it has a LOT to do with where XJRGuy started expressing his opinion about HIDs. I suspect that had he started a new thread titled "My concerns about HIDs on the FJR.." (or some such non confrontational crap) that this never would escalated to where it has. I certainly think that someone's group buy thread is no place to talk about how and why you dislike / distrust a particular product. That set a tone and the tone then carried over to the discussion in the technical thread.

Jyust my two cents. Hope I don't get banned..

I saw his post at the other site. He's just pissed about getting banned.

I like this site's layout and better search function that the other board. EzBoard isn't a great package of software. You get banned over there for mentioning this place.

However, I didn't think his comments on this board were that outrageous. I personally don't mind a lively discussion. And each is entitled to his or her opinion.

Banning or "timing" out members seems a little.... immature. On both sides. The other forum is pissed off because people are coming here. Talk about stupid.

Peace. Out.

So I'm a peripheral hanger-on on this board and I don't remember ever paying anything to use it (thanks) but I can't believe that a guy got sent to the corner like a child for making those comments.

For the record, he changed my mind and at this point, I'm back to my original thinking which is that HID's *should* be done as part of a complete refit. Therefore, he provided a service to the community even if you don't agree with him.

BTW - IMHO, "In case you're bewildered at all this, look at my signature again. I'm the Benevolent-*******-Dictator. You had better remember that when I let you out of your corner in 7 days." Smacks a bit of the testosterone saturation that you disclaim in the prior paragraph.

I don't think that I've ever strongly disagreed with you on anything and I appreciate the loads of helpful advice you've given me. However, I think you've overreacted. Apparently Rule #6 doesn't apply to admins.

Regs,

Jim

All I can say is I have seen worse arguments among guys on this forum that nothing ever happened.

Of course none of them were with you know who :D

Heck, I've even dissed War Child and not been ba

That there is funny, I don't care who ya are. :rolf:

Maybe WC should stop working out with Bonds and friends. I hear that the refreshments there may cause excessively aggressive behaviour. :D :D :D

Me, if I ever get the chance, I'll buy both of you a beer or two.

:cownoy:

Everyone's comments are appreciated.

To clarify, the timeout was due to violating Rule #7, and no other. Specifically, the slanderous insinuation. It matters not whether one agrees with it or not; the above observation from Carnifex pretty much covers it.

@Panthercity: :lol:

Rule 7 in a nutshell, Don't piss off the moderators.

I am really surprised that what was said actually did that.

I found his comments very technical and informative.

While in the beginning they may have been in the wrong thread but he was not banned until after it was moved.

Don't really know what actually set off warchild in what he said but seems to me that there wasn't anything all that harsh.

Edit

I will even go as far to say that it seemed Warchild attacked him first.

In our political conversations back and forth a few have gotten pretty heated and down right mean but this just didn't seem that way.

Maybe I just have thicker skin being a cops son. :D

Seemed to me that a lot of good information was being put forth.... Maybe got a little emotional but good arguements have a tendency to end up that way. Shows that each side believes in their opinion.
Banning someone from a forum seems sort of kindergardenish....... Pretty one sided way to end the arguement.
I agree JESTAL. Maybe Warchild should step down from being the dictator and resume his position as an advisor.
