This unit is brand new. I ended up with an extra one through some fortunate events of the M/C universe. I have used a Satellite tracker for 7-8 years. The primary benefit with this unit is the ability to text when out of cell service and also to call for an emergency when out of cell service. This hummer works. I had a false alert a few years ago on a ride (forgot to place the unit on lock as I put in my tank bag during lunch on a ride) and the local sheriff rang my cell phone to see if all was O.K.
