I sold my Aprilia Pegaso that I only owned for a year. As I have posted (too) many times, I really liked the bike. But my intentions were always to buy a second dual sport bike so my son and I could ride together. Problem is we have 2 great sport touring bikes, and so I never got around to buying that 4th bike... :angry:
A really nice fellow from Vermont came over and paid me my (inflated) asking price for his wife to ride. Seems he has one of the big KTM Adventures and this would be a good bike for her to tag along. I think they'll be very happy with it.
And then yesterday afternoon I put a deposit on this:
It's a '73 R60/5 with the extended wheel base option. It comes with a nice set of Krauser saddlebags and is in reasonably good, restore-able condition. The fella I'm buying it from has owned the bike for ~20 years and just rode it up through Nova Scotia a few weeks ago for the 2nd time. When he got back he plunked down the big green for a new R1200GS complete with adventure panniers.
Should be fun to ride around town a little the rest of this season and then do a strip down and restore over the winter. Guess I should go find some sort of airhead forums to scrutinize for information. Oh and I suppose I should be on the lookout for one of these:
