Started this morning when I am about to drop off my kids to school I noticed that the front passenger tire is flat. I quickly grab my compressor and started working on it.

Well, after ten minutes, not much changed so I stopped and figured it isn't just a psi drop but a puncture. So I call my friend a block away and he told me to come pick up his car.

I have to be in a hurry my kids are late in school now it around 8:20 AM already.

So I grabbed my motorcycle keys and put on my jacket and helmet, pushed the bike out of the garage and fire her up. Can you believe it, it won't start! The battery is completely dead. No lights on dash. So I have to push her back in. And its heavy if you have a dead bike.

So now I have a flat car (MDX) and a dead bike. Now i pulled out the spare of the truck and worked to install it. It's flat too! I haven't used this spare once in 8 years that I have this truck and never had a flat. I figured its just a low psi so I grab the compressor again. !0 minutes later, it looks like a donut to me to off we go. It's 8:45AM by now and my two girls are late and they have tests! It's 30% of their final grade so both are anxious.

I went straight to tire shop, 2 hours later, the person said it's unrepairable because my tires has cracks all over. Its a liability for them to fix it. I saw it myself I believe them. This tires are about 25K miles now but it's been 4 years. 5 minutes later,I coughed up $715 for 4 sets of tires.

By the time its all done is past 2 PM. Now with the bike, the battery is completely dead. My battery tender won't even charge it. My day just sucks but oh well, by the end of the day, my kids and wife will be here and they are just lovely! :)

There you go at the end of the day you can replace the tire's and battery!

But you never will have to replace the wife & kids with anything because you know they are lovely and ireplaceable.

And at the end of the day thats all what counts.

Have a good one!

If that's the worst ever happening to you, consider yourself a lucky "bastad"...and seeing that you reached the right conclusion after the fact...you're a winner :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

When the battery is DEAD, DEAD the tenders will not charge them. Been there done that... luckily I had/have a regular battery charger.

Funny, most of my bikes don't need no stinking battery to start.

It's a conspiracy I tell yah.. to get more of your money?

And 715 for tires? Jeesh, dude, you need to build a concrete round form and pour your own tires, I prefer RediCrete...

No, but if you leave the jumper cables on overnight between a car battery and dead bike battery, by morning the bike battery will usually have enough to start or at least hook to the tender, but will not have drained enough to kill the car battery.

Sorry about the start to the day, but sure sounds like it ended ok.

Now who is this kinder gentler poser that's using the avitar of Busta??? :p

Thanks for the offer Busta. I got 2 girls and a wife to hug me right.

It still puzzles me how my bike ended up with a dead battery. I ride it almost everyday since I bought it, and the only battery draining accessory is the alarm. I use my GPS maybe twice a week and that's it. That's why I never bothered connecting it to a battery tender. I even started it the afternoon before this incident after I changed the oil and it started right up. For the dead battery, I pulled it out and charged it free at AutoZone for 3 hours and connected it back to my battery tender.

All is good now. Last check, the batt tender is lighted green and my truck has 4 new tires.

damn, just when I'm in my ditch of being cynical, a skeptic, dysfunctional, and disallusioned, somebody expresses wise words and I'm again reminded I have two great daughters (teens non tha less) and my spouse is the pinnacle of the AIW (angelic italian wifey).

gee, come to my New Orleans Ride to Eat Gathering March 20-23 (see clicky below) and you'll get to meet them all
