We are meeting at 9:00 AM at the gas station / convenience store at the southwest corner of Route 128 and Petrified Forest Road just north of Calistoga. We will head out by 10:00 AM. The long-range forecast is for sunny and dry.
Because this is a shared-destination ride, everyone will be expected to know the route and ride their own pace and comfort level. I will provide maps.
Route:
The opening sequence of this video shows our break point at the end of Rockpile Rd, but then jumps to Route 128 north out of Calistoga and then the run down Rockpile Rd to the break point. When on Rockpile Rd you have to keep your eyes peeled, because the road suddenly becomes a dirt road. You can see it in the video.
Why up and down US 101? Because it's a roller coaster ride. The first half of this video shows the wonderful US 101 roller coaster. The second half shows Dutcher Creek to Dry Creek to Rockpile.
This video shows Skaggs Spring Rd., one of the most famous motorcycle roads in Northern California.
If there is interest, and because the rendezvous location is somewhat distant from most of us, some of us could rendezvous for breakfast ahead of the 9:00 AM meeting.

- North on 128 to US 101
- US 101 north to Hopland
- Lunch Hopland Bluebird Cafe
- South US 101 past Cloverdale to Dutcher Creek Rd
- Right Dry Creek Rd to Lake Sonoma
- Continue on Rockpile Rd to the end (Break)
- Back on Rockpile Rd to Skaggs Spring Rd.
- Right on Skaggs Spring Rd to the dam
- Turn around and back out the way we came in.
- Continue south on Dry Creek Rd. to Healdsburg.
- Break Healdsburg (TBD), then home.
