Don't plan on riding Spearfish Canyon for the next 8 weeks. Unless you like being behind the Pilot Car 😞

Last year I left Yellowstone by the gate near Lake Y--the East Gate? Southeast? Nice ride to Cody, then I headed for the Chief Joseph, which I'd never ridden S to N--and looking forward to it. Got to the crest of the hill and . . . flagman. Followed the damn pilot car at about 15 all the way down.

On the plus side, at least now--no more tar snakes on the Chief Joseph! Too bad about Spearfish Canyon this summer though. Great ride.

I'm so looking forward to making this ride both ways. I've been over the Beartooth multiple times but have never ridden the Chief Joseph. Can't wait for Red Lodge, going to do this Friday Beartooth, Chief Joseph, Chief Joseph Beartooth - Beer at the Chateau Rouge!

Glad to hear about Chief Joseph. Airboss and I rode it in 2012 and the tar snakes were horrible.

Yep, they were the slipperiest tar snakes I ever rode on five or six years ago but they didn't seem as bad two years ago.

I can't remember this road as actually being "bad" when I rode it last year, buy hey!, who doesn't like a new smoothie :)
