Just changed both tires (to Avons) with a lot of help from a friend.
Pulled the pumpkin and drive shaft. The rear wheel drive splines were well lubed.
The universal end of the drive shaft had no lube and was rusty yet. :blink: No damage that I could see. So lathered her up with high temp grease. It may be that the Yamaha engineers know what they're doing and those splines don't need much lube. Although I can't see what harm greasing will do.
new to me 2006 2nd owner, only about 10,000 miles.
BTW the saddle bag lock screws were not lock tited - are now
