Isn't the real question "Why were you honking your horn in the first place?"

What was going to be accomplished with that, eitther short term or long term? She had already cut you off enough to force you to hit your brakes. What was she likely to do once she heard you honking?

For her to get back in her ******* lane! I believe if oblivious cagers are not informed of their asinine driving behavior, they will never learn and next time she does it may mean someone dies.

Yeah. Keep thinking that. While you're at it, get a set of loud pipes.

All of you guys and gals out there that keep getting cut off by cagers worry me. I've been riding for over 40 years and can't think of a single time a cager did something that I either wasn't expecting or downright deserved.

Get some loud pipes and louder horns or learn how to ride.

The choice is yours.

Sorry for the thread hijack and the harsh words. Now back to your regularly scheduled electrical lessons.

Mark, I'm not sure what part of California you live, but if it is a part where motorcycle riding is common all year you would not understand what we deal with in the Midwest and northern states. especially in winter time, cagers do not expect to have to look out for a bike riders. All the years I lived and rode in California in the 80's and 90's I never had a problem either.

I was not very surprised. I always leave myself an out. She wad definitely surprised!

Given the geographical differences and your experience in both, I will accede to your experiences. I offer to eat a little crow.

Maybe a wing.

To continue the thread hijack, I can understand Allens situation. I am very seldom surprised when an oblivious cager does something to threaten my safety, but I still have to brake, and still hit the horn to snap them back to reality. Prolly won't keep them from doing it again, but hopefully will for at least a few minutes!

I try to ride as if all the cages are actively trying to kill me. Since adding LED lights I have had much safer rides.

I believe honking your horn can help an otherwise oblivious driver realize they made a mistake that could have seriously hurt someone.

Picture some inexperienced 17 year old kid diving that car that almost hit you... Maybe next time, they will look...

If even one percent of those oblivious or unexperienced people change their driving habits, perhaps looking twice, or even just more carefully, before changing lanes, or pulling out of a sidestreet, maybe less people in or on other vehicles will be at risk.

Not honking your horn, does nothing at all to help the situation....

I too assume they all want to hurt me, are going to pull out in front of me, or don't see me... It's worked well for me.

I just release the .50 cal on 'em.
LOL, I always was told not to use .50 cal on "soft targets".!

(BTW, didn't Barrett leave CA because it's illegal to own one/shoot one there?)
Is it possible to go off topic in a Split/off topic thread? What then?
Come on now Guys let's just all have a beer together and relax a bit aye, first Guinness Stout is on Papa Chuy Viejo - Slainte! jes' sayin' and nuff said!

I just honk my horn and flip them off, extending my finger over the hood of their car as I wheelie off into the distance...
Uh huh...

I know it's true 'cause I seen it on the TV Series "Then Came Wheaton"

Oh c'mon na' Donnie Boy... Here it is close approchin' the celebration of ole' St Pat drivin' the snakes from Eirey, and you post up a picture of some floosey (with nice breasts, I'll give you that) holdin' a poorly poured Guiness in her broight pink undagarments?

But shouldn't the lass (at least) be wearin' the green (if naught the auburn hair) at this most auspicious occasion?

Fred, you post up a plain blond chick to prove how she's more attractive than a very pretty blue eyed brunette with nice assets? You need more than your ears checked!! :)

I thought for sure Papa Chuy would be a Tecate or Dos Equis guy...

Be careful... looks like that dark beer gives you enlarged breast syndrome.
