I wonder if they'll wall off the open sight lines, paint a centerline, throw down some sand & oil in the middle of the lanes, and use oncoming vehicles to occasionally cross into your lane while you're learning "...how to read any road, how to set your entry speed, how to find safer lines through corners you've never seen before and how to more safely navigate your favorite canyon road."

Cynic :p

If you really want all that, take this course. I did the three days in the Ozarks and it was excellent! Real roads, real traffic, real hazards but the emphasis of the course is safety while riding. Learned a bunch and rode on some of the best riding roads in the country (Jeff Ashe's neighborhood?).

Yeah, all that track training stuff is cool and everything, but it often doesn't translate real well to the street. I think most of us would be better served with courses aimed at what we do most, street riding, like the that one.

BTW, who is Lawrence Grodsky? The name is familiar...

Lawrence Grodsky was a regular contributor to Rider Magazine and started the Stayin Safe motorcycle rider training school.

He passed away in April of 06 after hitting a deer....

I loved his articles...

Sorry if we derailed your thread. I've been to several on track training schools (not this one though) and have learned something from every one, even if it was a minor point (which may suddenly become the MOST IMPORTANT THING I KNOW, given the wrong set of circumstances). Hell, I even picked up something from the MSF advanced course, poor as the course is.

Just go for it and report back here. $295 is competitive with other classes like this. If you've not been to any kind of track based training, you'll no doubt learn a lot and have a hell of a good time too!

Those are my thoughts. The track is in my backyard, hard to so no. BTW BwanaDik, Fillmore 71 reference? And if that is the case, what kind of girl do you think I am?

IIRC, Cdogman has taken this class (and is planning on it again this year?). I think his take on it was very positive. I've also heard nothing but good about the Miller Motorsports park. And no, I'm not affiliated with them. ;)
