My FJR arrived earlier than expected, (February 27 instead of mid-April), but my ice-covered driveway stopped me from bringing her home until March 18.
It was my first ride in nearly 10 years, and the tires were still pretty slick as the bike had zero km...
I rode carefully around town for a while before heading to the highway, but the feejer inspires confidence, and the ride home was leisurely, but immensely satisfying.
I was extremely watchful in the curves, since there's still some sand and gravel on the road, and a couple of construction zones where things can get nasty.
The weather has been gradually improving, so I've managed to put 992km on the odo
-- already done an early oil/filter change at @600km, and plan on another at @1200km
I have to do tight, slow turns both in my yard, (grassy), and at work, (gravelly), and she seems fairly easy to control in the 'friction zone'. Most of the time I can keep feet on pegs
I intend to do some parking lot sessions, doing figure eights and so forth. I'm using google maps to plan some local back country rides -- there's some real nice bike routes in the area!
Blue skies and dry roads! :yahoo:
