SS1K completed on an 06 AE

I am not bragging about completeing an SS1K Iron Butt ride(have several under my belt) but I want to let all know that the electronic shifting feature made it very easy to negotiate hours after hours of lane splitting in Los Angeles CA traffic.

The AE system worked fantastic during all the many hours of slow riding and also during those periods when we could do the 65 mph speed limit.

Curious, has anyone with an AE/AS 06 done an Iron Butt ride yet, beside me?? Please advise.

Yellow Wolf, thanks for the good words. I would think that we had occasions of dense lane splitting between 1300-1900 hours. Other hours we could easily do the posted speed limit.

Congrats on you doing the Deals Gap ride. Some day I hope to ride the Deal Gap route.

Is there extra rewards for IB with Black Lung Disease Merit Badge?

How true! I rode for about 2hrs through LA traffic, with my face shield open for some of the time. My face was black when I got home. Guess my lungs must look the same.
