Ever since I brought her home from the dealer, she seems to have an issue with the throttle. When I give it a rev. Sometimes it just dies. Has done it when coming to a stop too, when pulling in the clutch. I've bumped up the idle a bit and seems a little better, but if you crack the throttle too fast it stumbles and dies. If your slower on the throttle its fine. Also has a bit of an erratic idle. Dealer said it will go away as she breaks in, but I think it's a TPS problem, or maybe software issue, any ideas?

Ideas? I've got better than that. I've got the answer!

Your idle speed is set too low. Find the idle adjustment knob on the right side of the FJR (see Owner's Manual for a diagram of the location) and bump up your idle speed to at least 1100 rpm. All ills will be solved.

This is a common problem. A search of the forum will yield a plethora of threads on the issue.

You're welcome and that will be a dollar. :)

My 2011 behaved almost exactly the same out the door. I set up the idle to 1100 RPM on a fully warmed up engine, and she's behaved ever since. You can safely set the idle a touch higher, say 1200 RPM, on a new engine, in case it's still a little 'tight'.

Make sure you avoid running at a fixed engine speed during break-in, BTW

Recommended frequently here and nearly as frequently scoffers are amazed that it makes such a difference.

I attribute it to too many cruiser riders doing set ups and setting the idle too low before delivering it to the customer.

I have this exact same problem. I'm glad I was able to find this answer. I just got mine back from the shop and it still does it!

Whatever happened to B.B.B.? Not so much as a 'thank you' even. Sheesh! Kids these days. :D

Thanks to Skooterg and others my FJR now idles at 1200 and no longer stalls. I have put 1300 km on her since I posted this, so have been busy riding and no time for anything else(wife's not happy with me, lol), so tonight is forum and wife time, gotta get in the good books, leaving at 7am tomorrow for a breakfast ride. Cheers to all my fellow FJR'ers!
