Well, in 1968 anyway. Whoa levers have improved a bit since these were the best around, discs were just starting to get a real grip :p on the market, were still seen on racers only till mighty Honda slapped 'em on the revolutionary CB750. The Zook gets closer and closer to being a motorcycle again, in any case.

Brings back memories from my old dirt days on a 90cc street bike...One good jump and those foot pegs would be seriously bent and the fork would be puking fluid all over the place.

Lookin good Rad, keep the pics coming. Does the SO know you're using furniture to support the restoration work??

Too funny G, my thoughts exactly. I caught hell for sneaking into a corner of the utility room many years ago when we were temporarily garageless. Great use of a Minnesota winter Rad, bike is looking great !

Nice job!

That's what furniture is for isn't it? What else would you do with it, put your feet on it? :D

That old hassock is mostly a kitty launch pad these days, but purrfect for supporting a freshly powdercoated frame....

Two of our motorcycles have a rear drum and one has drums on front and back.

Not near as good as the disc brakes on the FJR of course but they will stop you sooner or later.

Looking good, radman. You gonna show them 90 hour wheels? More piccies, please! :)
They're at a shop getting tightened and trued. Hope to get them back next week and slap some new skins on 'em. Lord knows it would have been easier to just get new rims and spokes, but this way they're still all oe circa 1968.

Looks similar to my R60 BMW; of course the Beemer made waay more HP than the Suzook and *required* those huge brakes..

Nice try pal. R60's power output varied, 30 or 40 horsies depending on exact model, same as da Zook, and weighed 170-200 lbs more. Which would make better brakes desirable, were the riders of same to actually get enough speed up to require more than foot dragging to supply necessary whoa power. NEXT! :p
