I purchased a used replacement stator (2) years ago from Duster19 when my original went out on me. It was about this time of year and Yamaha could not get me a new stator until December and I wanted to get some fall rides in. It has worked well until a few weeks ago. Thanks again Duster!

I'm in the process of installing a new OEM stator and R/R this time. I had spliced into the existing wiring just under the gas tank with the used stator as the connector had been cut off.

Problem: What do I need to do to make room for the R/R connector and wiring to be removed from the bike and placing the new one. There is a long plastic tray between the radiator and the sub-frame that somewhat encases the wires as they round the subframe for attachment to the R/R.

Do I need to loosen up the radiator at the top?

Are there other items that need to be removed?

Thanks for any insight that can be supplied.

I ended up just splicing it in like the last one I installed.

It looks like the radiator needs to be brought out of the way to ease the installation with the big connector attached.
