GPS related . . . at our advanced ages . . . as a tool to overcome memory lapse about finding our ways home? How's the ganga this evening, Mick?

Classic, classic music - for me, that one's indelibly linked to a SCUBA trip with two friends to La Jolla in a 1961 Falcon wagon with the rear windows painted white (with exterior house paint on the inside) to match the car - a real beater of a paint wagon cleaned out for the weekend -- three nineteen year old housepainters on a coastal adventure. I remember that song coming on somewhere in Orange County on our way home. Back when I could usually find it.

I need to work on that blog more. Installed a very nice new theme, but haven't had time to customize it. All kinds of things I want to write about, too... I wish there was a GPS that could help you find more time in a day

With riding season ending here soon, I suppose I will have more time available. One of those, 'be careful what you wish for' kinda things.

I know barb on the forum, but sadly have yet to meet the dear lady in person

You are the one who can make us all laugh

But doing that

you break out in tears
Good stuff and cool to see EC in that clip. I DO hafta see Steve Winwood when he comes around - too many memories set to his songs all the way back to his teen years with the Spencer Davis Group. But Traffic? Considering that Dave Mason was also in that band? Just WOW!
Saw Dave Mason up here in G.V. last fall in the 270 seat main stage theater at the Center for the Arts. I worked the show as a volunteer (saw it for free) - he was supposed to be coming as an acoustic duo with a second guitarist. That afternoon, before the show, he informed the Center management that he'd be bringing the band. No extra charge, just felt like doing it, and holy **** - what an unexpected treat. We volunteers found out as we were getting assignments before the show and the audience found out when they got in. Can't remember his young lead guitarist's name, but an absolute monster on the instrument! Humble, too. They were thanking us volunteers just before they left "for letting us play here." !!!!!

One of the best shows ever - brought me to instant tears from the first notes of "We Just Disagree". Still stunned by that performance a year later. Like you said, these guys won't be around forever, and it just doesn't get much better.

My memoirs?! Damn, son - you must've gotten into some special smoke from the recent NorCal harvest before posting last night. I'm nothing more than long lived ("old" for the senile like yourself).

Stevie, "God", Dave Mason, Traffic. This thread put a big ol' smile on my face. Thanks!

'Skibum, I saw Dave Mason at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle ca '73. His version of All along the Watchtower was f***ing amazing, a performance I'll never forget.

Oh, damn - you guys are pushing me to go dig through boxes of CDs for some MUST-HEAR-NOW listening.
CBM - Trust me, Dave and the band can STILL smoke on classic Dylan compositions - they played "Watchtower" last fall and absolutely killed on it! Phenomenal show, even though they didn't play my all time favorite Dave Mason tune: "Baby Please". (The lead guitar hook in that song may be the best for a ripping, screaming guitar riff that sets off the vocal that follows of any song I've ever heard. Just my opinion, of course, but hard to go wrong with the talent pool OM brought up with this thread.) Link for "Baby Please" below, with "All Along the Watchtower" links on the right margin when you click to watch this one:

****, you guys are OLD!!
AJ, you are absolutely NOT going to believe how short a time it is until you get to where we are (in solar orbits*).

* since there's probably no way to account for less sophisticated musical tastes

Blarney is right! You guys are old, but Steve Winwood is one of my favorite guys ever. Valerie, Back in the Hugh Life and Finer Things are three of my favorites songs. Hell, my daughter's know those songs.

Not a big Clapton fan. Never have been. But I liked him in that clip.

The issue is, this music reminds me of being a kid. It reminds you guys of your 30s. Lol...

Loved the Winwood Blind Faith clip. Such a gift.

My favorite version of Dear Mr. Fantasy is the Crosby Stills Nash one, live, on the boxed set.
