My 06 fjr has a lazy clutch! It is real bad during downshifting, I have to blip the thottle before it will shift. In the morning the clutch sticks when I come to a light and stalls. Is anyone having this issue.

I have noticed difficulty in downshifting from 5th to 4th on my '06A; it's almost like I have to break the clutch plates loose before I can move the shifter. 4th through 1st seem to be no problem once the 5th to 4th has been accomplished. I have also noticed a slight lurch forward when starting the bike even with the clutch lever squeezed. I tried bleeding the clutch slave cylinder but saw no air in the clear tubing. This only seems to happen after the bike has warmed up. I wonder if there is a warped plate or two in the clutch pack. I have 1400 miles on the odo.

I have noticed a huge difference in the clutch on the '06 vs the '03. The symptoms are similar to what you are describing and my only cure so far is that I have the adjustment set on #2 and I pull the lever all the way to the bar for every shift/downshift. If I didn't, bike wouldn't completely disengage. It has gotten better with miles (1600) and I plan on changing over to Amsoil soon.

The stalling is probably a separate issue. Mine will do this within the first 10 to 15 minutes of operation if I come to a stop and give the bike rapid throttle (not cracking it). I have gotten into trouble twice over this. I also notice that when I first start the bike it misses every so often (this happens all the time when cold but never when warm - after 10 to 15 min of operation). I thought this was do the extra emissions junk and I order a PCIII to remap because it acts like it is very lean - and no I haven't checked the spark plug yet! Unfortunately, the PCIII is backordered until the end of the month.
