When I start my 03 cold it fires right up and gradually slows down to a normal idle when it is warm . The problem is if I mess with the throttle before it is completely warm. If I rev it at all before warm it will die when it returns to idle and has to be restarted and held at an elevated rpm until it is warmed up.

I get no trouble codes and it runs great otherwise. It has done this for awhile but I am bored and need something to do. Did a search but didn't find a good answer. Ideas ?????

I would suspect that all the bikes will do that. When you rev the engine, before it is warmed up, and then let it idle it will drop back to the idle it would hold when warm and it is not ready for that and the engine will die. It's too cold outside now or I would try mine.

Good point. My problem is that it is also to cold here but I am bored so I am trying to fix what isn't broken. :)

My '03 doesn't do that.

I can give a throttle blip while it's still in fast idle, and it returns to fast idle, not stalling or stumbling.

We have reached the end of what I can contribute. No idea what to look for to troubleshoot. (TBS recall been done?)

Mine's never done that. I don't think any should do it. That's what that fancy ECM is for. Wish I could help Ray, but I have no idea what might be causing that.

What does the bike idle at when it's warm? If it's low, that could be causing your stalling issue.

FYI -set it at 1000-1100 when the bike is at operating temp.

The idle is perfect when warmed up. The issue if it is one is between cold start and maybe half way to full warm. If I start it and walk away it warms up normal and settles into a nice 1100 rpm idle. If I mess with the throttle before its warm then it dies at idle until it gets happy with itself.

I think maybe its female.
