Summer Shield??

Kasey gave me her brand new stock '03 shield last year and it was great for summer riding, might try the Cal Sci cut out mod for this summer and see how it works.

WACK IT OFF!!!!!!! The stock screen sucks in the up ORdown position. I cut 3 in. off, and it works great.

If you put some spacers behind the stock screen it lowers the upper edge by ~2 inches when all the way down and gives you plenty of wind in the chest . Raise it up only if it rains or for chilly nights. I still get too much head buffeting with it up though (I'm 6'2"). I'm thinking about trying a laminar lip. That might be convenient to throw in a bag and then break out only when needed for raised shield riding.

Oh, I also have the V-stream for the real cold weather.

Just did that mod on my stock '03 two days ago John, just haven't had time to test it yet.

Not until this year, ran with the 4+4 ice blue and then switched to the v stream, but have just recently cut down the stock shield and I like it more in the summer. now yesterday on the way home from work got caught in a downpour and had i not forgotten my rain coat, I would have been fine, but my mesh jacket and the cut down shield were no match for the cold rain I was drenched, but even so I still enjoyed the ride home!, besides the build up of moisture on my face shield, I think i will continue to run with this shield mod.

The only thing I may try is to cut down my ice blue 4+4 small amounts until I can have it up and have better quiet zone as is, I just run with the cut down shield all the way down mostly and the clean air and breeze has been great thus far.
