Sometimes it's good to NOT be on a bike.

I know it's hard to accept, but.....

Hmmmmm! I wonder how Frogs Togs might have done riding through that?

If told there was hot fresh made pie just outta the oven, Niehart would ride through that lil' ol' stormie-poo! :)

I got caught between 2 of those in SW Kansas on the way to Gunnison 2 summers ago.

They were not as well formed or as big, but I was glad to be able to crank the FJR up to 100 mph and work my way in between to sunny skies in Garden City. A Trans Am stayed right on my tail most of the way. No place to hide out there.

I wasn't quite that Lucky in West Texas.

Thought it was quite a ways away, came round the corner just over the hill in front of me into a wall of hail, almost zero visibility.

Didn;t dare stop in case someone came from behind.

NOT FUN!!!

That was my first thought, drop a couple gears and pin it to get the hell out of there. That is why we own a Feejeer isn't it?

That just reminded me of NAFO in Golden...

Was riding through Rocky MTN park with a new buddy and lightning was hitting too close...

Coyote asks "WTF"...

"Go faster!"

It's harder to hit a fast moving target. Right?

Holy Weather Channel Dave!

Sometimes you're just better off not messing with mother nature.

Nice find.

Keep Going!

I've been pretty lucky in my open-country rides through the west in recent years. I've seen some nasty looking storms, sometimes apparently right in my path, but somehow either they moved or my road bent around them. I was in a rental car in Colorado a long time ago and we hit this amazing storm that turned into hail. BIG hail. We finally pulled up under an overpass to wait it out. I was seriously concerned for the car's windshield. SO glad I wasn't on a bike at the time.

About four years ago, coming through Montana and out of some mountains, I looked up after a sweeping turn and saw the scariest, darkest, nastiest storm cloud ever just a few miles ahead. The good part was the road twisted back south and I missed it. The bad part was after I looked away from the sky, there was a freaking 10-point (that's an estimate) buck STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD right in front of me! Luckily, with vigorous braking, I stopped about six feet short of him. The bastard. Always some damn thing to be watching out for out there, isn't there?
