Had one of those smile inducing events on the way to work this morning. I was first in line at a busy intersection. When the light turned green I cautiously went across looking for the possible too late for work type running a red light. Once I was in the clear I cranked the throttle WFO or close to it. Well, you all know what happens when you do that.

The front wheel, of course, lept for joy and stayed aloft for several yards. I always get a big grin myself from this event and apparently so did a guy in a pickup going the opposite direction. He was waiting for the traffic in front of him to move and probably witnessed the whole thing. He honked and gave an enthusiastic thumbs up. I guess it probably surprises people when a quiet bagger - touring bike lifts its front wheel. Just another reminder of how much fun this bike is

I think what you did is careless and wreckless....

Ok, I lied. I'm just jealous 'cause I'm not out there raisin' a little hell myself!

(Wish I could ride a wheelie... well.... on purpose, anyway.... ;) )

Hey,

Don't you know that's careless and childish? It only sets a negative impression for all of us. :D LOL

It is fun ain't it !!

Want to add another level of excitement? Put your briefcase/laptop case in the trunk and load down the side bags and repeat what you just did. Oh yeah...and a near empty tank of gas.

Want to see whatever entity you worship :) ........ up close & personal :D ..do what Randy said, but hold it WFO :dribble: for a 5 count

You would be the Hero if you then slammed on the front brake and got the reat wheel off the ground too.

I have found the front brake very ineffective with the front tire off the ground.
