Well, I was trying to put on the rack and noticed that to two drilled through holes on the front, closer to the front of the bike, are NOT counter sinked. So when I tried to put the counter sink bult in its not smooth with the top of the rack. Looks like the manufacturer of the rack forgot tp counter sink those holes. I got the rack form twistedthrottle.

Anyone else have this problem?

Mine was easy to fit on an 06 model, 4 mounting holes were counter sunk.

Mine was easy to fit on an 06 model, 4 mounting holes were counter sunk.

My mounting plate looks just like Shadow's. I too have four counter sunk holes and when you tighten up the tapered Alan head bolts it's complete flush. You must have a defective mounting plate.

I was on the phone with Twisted Throttle today and they have had some defective ones come through as they are aware of this problem. They said they will resolve it for me ASAP.
