6' 4" here with a 36" inseam and baaad knees.
I rode a lot of miles on my feej with the seat on high and the stock pegs. This year I added the lowering kit to my pegs and I can't imagine going back. As others have stated, you have to watch where your feet are on the pegs when you start digging into corners, but otherwise, for most of the time, it is just more comofortable.
I always wear Aerostich Darien pants with the knee armor/pads in place and have no problem with hitting the tank. I can't do this on the Concours as my knees there hit the tank "fllare".
Like you, I find that no bike actually fits me. But the FJR has been very comfortable and works quite well. I would like to get a Russel seat, and feel that could make it even better. I am no lightwieght either (265 on a good day) so I take up a lot of real estate on the FJR. At your hieght, you know how things fit. Your knees will always be folded tight. I would strongly suggest highway pegs too. Though I don't have them, moving your foot position once in a while on a longer trip makes the knees much happier.
You will love your FJR! Enjoy!
