I'm planning on leaving Red River on Thursday around 9:30 p.m., taking State Road 38 to State Road 522. 522 to US 64 and then to the hotel. It's gonna be a long one, but I think I can make up some time once I get on 522.
And we call Bustanut joker a *******!!!
Yeah, He should be exhausted from that Loooooong ride ahead of him... :****:

If all goes as planned, I will leave downtown Minkler on Tuesday for Laughlin, NV. Then on to Gallup on Wed, which will put me in Taos Thursday. Weather forecasts all look good except maybe for Nevada at 100 or so.

Will exit Taos on Monday for Kayenta to tour monument Valley on Tuesday. On to Cedar City Wed. and Hawthorne Thursday. Over Tioga and back to Minkler Friday.

Maintenance work on my "old" body set for mid October, on the FJR in November. Spring 2011 LOOK OUT, I'm back on the road.

Longrider

I'll be leaving Minneapolis area early Monday AM headed for an early lunch stop at the Two Rivers Saloon in Niobrara NE. I'll follow NE-12 across northern Nebraska to Valentine then swing south through the Sand Hills area over nighting in Scottsbluff.

Tuesday after checking out the Scotts Bluff Nat. Monument I'll head for Fort Collins CO and the New Belgium Brewery. Next will be up the front range to Estes Park and the Peak to Peak Highway making a stop in Black Hawk CO to see why the Oh My God Road is called the Oh My God Road. Onto Dillon CO via I-70.

Wednesday meet the Bugnatr in Grand Junction for a loop including CO-141 coming to rest in Delta CO.

Thursday will be a combo plater of 92, 149, 84, and 64 arriving in Taos at exactly beer-thirty.

That is the exact same route my wife will be riding down on Thursday from Gunnison. I'm going down on Wednesday but will be riding back up to meet her, probably near Pagosa Springs, on Thursday.

Damn! I wish I lived further away :dribble: My ride up kinda sucks, it's not far so it doesn't suck for a long time, but it still sucks. See you all at the pool, we'll have a couple!

Dave,

We will be leaving Durango Thursday, heading to Pagosa Springs and then taking 64 to Taos. If you you want to meet up in Pagosa Springs, we could all ride together to the rally.

Ed, it's hard to pinpoint what time I'll be near Pagosa Springs. Like I said, I'll be riding north from Taos to meet my wife somewhere on that route on her ride south, so I plan to keep riding north until I meet up with her. I've got your cell number, and I'll PM you mine so we can connect if it looks like the timing will work for a meet-up. At the very least, we'll pass each other at some point and can connect then.

So whats stopping you from meeting Rick and I in Delta, Co Wednesday for a little ride down the Rockies Thursday-that will add a few miles to your ride to Taos

As Karl Marx said, or maybe it was Groucho Marx: "WORK IS THE CURSE OF THE MOTORCYCLING AND DRINKING CLASSES!" Being retired for a year now, I can just barely remember that "work" thing!

Not a good idea to invite papa chuy  He will either slide down the slide head first or belly flop, soaking innocent guests..

You will then be asked to leave

I think I’ve finally decided on my route to Taos. I’d like some feedback from anyone with knowledge of this route.

Leave Havasu via I-40 east to Holbrook, turn south on 77 heading towards Snowflake to Show Low. From Show Low, turn east on 60 riding through Springerille and crossing into New Mexico staying on 60 until I reach Socorro, NM and I-25. I will spend the night in Socorro. I’ll leave Socorro on Wednesday morning heading north on I-25 through Albuquerque to Santa Fe where I will turn off on 84/ 285 catching the 68 in Espanola into Taos.

My first day will consist of 544 miles and my second day will be a quick trip to Taos at only 205 miles. I lived in Albuquerque for a little over five years and traveled New Mexico quite a bit while working there, but paid little attention to details because my traveling was work related and I just had to get somewhere.

I am interested in detours that might make my trip a little more pleasurable by staying off I-25 as much as possible.

Any suggestions AJ or anyone else?
