I arrived in Albuquerque so early I decided to head all the way up here to Taos. I was lucky to get a room, cause they are booked tonight. The weather was great, although my temp said it was 98 in Albuquerque at about 2pm. Fueled up on top of 9 mile hill, then got caught in traffic around the I-25 I-40 interchange. Ran into a lot of on & off construction through Arizona and New Mexico on I-40. Nothing serious to hold anyone up though.
Can't believe how everything has changed. Espinola and Taos is huge compared to how I remember it. Albuquerque and Santa Fe seem much larger also. Now I wish I would have trailered my bike so my wife would have come. She would have loved all of the cool shopping. Perhaps next time! She always backs out of riding when it turns into reality.
I understand there is a BMW group due in tomorrow also. There were a bunch of Harley riders here when I arrived. The Kachina Lodge is nice, us FJR folks are being grouped together as we are taking over two entire areas of rooms.
Pinhead shows up tomorrow and I will ride out with him to meet up with his wife Kyndall as she starts out towards Taos on Thursday morning. I did see a bunch of LEO out and about with radar, so ride wisely. But then there are always plenty of youngsters to nab on there Sport Bikes pulling wheelies from red lights.
