I happened to be at Desert Powersports in Prosser WA. Saturday and while chatting with Dan he asked me to put up a notice for this years Techwest. Sooooooo, here it is.

Techwest 2010 will be held at Desert Valley Powersports in Prosser, May 2010. (Exact date TBA)

Having attended a few of these over the years I can say that this is an event very well worth making. Dan and crew pull out all the stops to make it a great opportunity to meet up with fellow FJR owners, learn some cool stuff and hang out at a dealership that has been a major supporter of the FJR community since the very begining of the FJR story in North America. Simply put, it's always a kick-ass good time. Pillions are always welcome as well and if yours isn't into "bike tech days" no problemo, Prosser is in the heart of wine country. You go to Techwest, your pillion can go on a winery "crawl." Everyone wins!

In the past the Best Western next door to the shop has offered a generous "event" rate for those wishing to stay over for the night. Once Dan has set a date I would expect that to hold true this year as well. So for those looking for an early riding season weekend away on the bike, this a great opportunity for an FJR "road trip" to get the season off to a great start.

Stay tuned for the details and in the meantime keep your calender for May open.

I love that these guys are in my backyard! It's where I first set eyes on my FJR.

Perhaps I'll go...

Sounds like a good reason to ride for a while, and by then the weather should be nice and warm.

Anyone else thinking of attending?

Do NOT do this on May 1st. ;) No choice for me, as on that date, I'll be celebrating 11 years of marriage... by remaining married because I was home on that date! :D

Seriously the wine tasting is a walk away from the shop and Best Western. Could really be a fun day/afternoon and I hope all of you who bring your wife/gf....get lucky :)

May 1st is bad for me too. I really want to get over to it this time. (Hopefully without a piece trying to go through my oil pan again)

I'll be down to GP Suspension in May to get the forks and shock done... if the dates work out I will try to pop in.

Griff

I'll add my tentative to this as well. I might possibly be overseas in the later part of May so we'll have to see.

This sound's like fun.

Sooner the final date is set the better for those who can't be as spontaneous as they would like :) .

Could I also put in a plug for a PM to those who express interest when it is settled?

Thanks,

Gerry in Spokane

I hope to be there!! I attended one a couple of years ago. What a great day, and a great dealership!

I am going to World Supers in Salt Lake at the end of the month Though. :yahoo:

I just called the shop - dated pending, but they are going to talk amongst themselves and drop me a call back with info. :)

OP might get it before me and post up as well, but we should know something shortly.

OK, as promised, they called me back a few minutes ago.

As of today, they are still working out the details, so do not have a date set yet. They committed to dropping me a line when they had the date sorted. ;)

I guess I wanted to clarify about this Techwest meet:

Is it FJR only? I wondered about doing a weekend ride with a buddy of mine who rides a BMW towards the Wallowa's some when in May; if it works out Prosser would be a great stop enroute, but I wonder if my buddy would be bored out of his mind if all the bike stuff is going to be only FJR related?
