USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE TO YOUR DESTINATION. . . DO NOT TRAVEL ON HIGHWAY 16. . . . Pilot car is being used from Highway 436 (old girl scout rode / rome hill intersection on Highway 16 up to Deer Haven (about mile marker 44). Limited use, Highway 16 could be closed back down at any time. . . . . Both South and North Broken Back roads are closed. The old highway (east of Highway 16) is also closed. However, the old Hyatteville Logging Road is open for mainly fire trucks and fire crews. . . . .Evacuation is still in effect from Deer Haven up on the West Ten Sleep Lake Road to West Ten Sleep Lake and the trail-head, all homes in-between. . . Worland still has an evacuation center open at the Worland Community Center Complex, located at 1200 Culbertson Ave; Worland, Wyoming; in the back gym. If any evacuee needs a place to stay, go there. . . . . This fire is still being fought, with about 2,700 to 3,000 acres burned at this time. Additional crews are responding to this area to help, as well as possibly one more helicopter headed this way. Please do not go into or near the fire area. As far as food and water donations or other donations are concerned, please do not bring any further donations right now. We have received plenty of items to help with the fire fighters and the Red Cross. HOWEVER, if the situation changes we may need more, So everyone standby and keep those donations handy, but for now we're having trouble managing all the supplies. Thank You for those donations. . . . . .Last, a "REMINDER" Highway 16 could be shut down at any time for pilot car traffic and could remain closed for the remainder of today and all evening. Please be patient and plan for an alternate route to your destination. Tune your vehicle radios to the local road update stations that you find posted on signs along the roadway as you near Buffalo, Wy; Worland Wy; or Ten Sleep Wy; local area station on the AM is 1610. Thanks, stay safe.
