Help! A friend and I are very interested in a FJR1300, but we can't seem to find one to look at. All of the dealerships want a $500 depost, and none of them have one on the floor. Does anyone know where we can at least "test sit" one? The new options on the 2006 are nice but we could go for something down to a 2001.

Thanks! :D

There is a cherry used '05 as well as a new '05 at CalCoast Motorsports in Ventura. A bit far from Hayward and I doubt you'll get a test ride. Too, the '06's are substantially revised from previous years, so don't judge one by the other.

That's the pain....and the allure of this bike. Anybody who plops down $500 on a bike they haven't even ridden (probably most on this site) or maybe even sit on is a testament to this bike.

I'd offer a sit, but I'm a couple states away from Cali.

Also, the time for a deposit is over. Your best chances for an '06 will be as they come in and others back out on the deposit...or if some dealers bought extra.

FYI, the bike has only been sold in the U.S. since the 2003 model. 2003 = Silver, 2004 = Ceruelan Silver, 2005 = Galaxy Blue, 2006 = Cobalt Blue. They have sold in Europe and other countries for another year or two.

Also, welcome to the board. This is the definitive forum for FJRs.

I just want to see it, and check how upright the seating position is. But, sadly.. Ventura is a bit far. Thanks though :eek:k:

YIKES! Did that in high school when a friend and I went in on a small sail boat. We almost weren't friends when it was all over. Make sure you both sign a contract on how the bike will be shared, how damage will be addressed, and that each person is responsible for their full share of payments of forfeit all ownership rights.

BTW: I ended up owning the boat and making all but the first 2 payments. I was not happy.

That kind of reminds me of a saying:

"Business partners are people that used to be friends."

I know of an 03 for sale in Alabama. Not that great of news for you, but maybe to someone else reading this topic.

I had a Partner in my business. Lasted all of six months. It took 5 years for us to speak again. Now I own the business outright and life is so much easier 8 years later. BTW the former partner came over on his V-star last night and we shot several games of pool in which he kicked my ***.
