It was so great to meet so many people that I only knew by forum name before, and it was fun showing some of Northern California's roads to visitors.

I could go on and on, but this message is all about thanks to those that helped set it up and run it. It was a wonderful time!

I had a great time, just rolled in from Reno.

I mainly ride my FJR to/from work and local San Diego twisty roads (not a whole lot of top end runs)

Changed that on the way down 395

(FJR is now thoroughly cleaned out)

DocDanDC & myself made some very good time

One thing I will have to do is go back and run Reno to Bishop during the day.

It was a lot of fun in the dark, but could be better if we were not limited by headlight speeds.

Debbie rode 1840 mi over the course of a week; what a trooper for a first-timer.

ALSO, thanks to everyone for being so generous with their time in answering my questions about farkles, etc.

Lastly, had a great ride over Sonora Pass on the way home. Some great sights.

One hope for next year's WFO: Venders to follow Skyway's example of being available to install his sliders. It would be great to have someone from Cee Bailey's (or other windshield dealers), GPS, Radar, Starcom, fuel cells, tires, seats (Russel, etc.), electric clothing, gear (Aerostich or Joe Rocket), helmets (Nolan, etc.), pipes (Dale Walker's, Blue Flames, etc.). Kind of like one stop shopping. I know that's probably not realistic for a group of our size, but it sure would be nice.

Ditto on the thanks to all the organizers. Great job! Marianne and I had a superb time and met some very fun and some very weird people. Loved them all... well.

Enjoyed the demo rides (and am reluctant to say that the AE is pretty damn smooth). Stratoliner was scary late Sat. PM, in the wind gusts. The bike was as solid as a train, but I felt like I could barely hang on at times.

Fun to see what everyone had done to their bikes in the farkling realm. We bought the new Autocom Super Pro intercom lash up in Carson City and was pleasantly surprised to discover just how well it worked. We also bought a Camelbak thingy and, boy, does that ever work well. We wished we had it for the ride down, which was much hotter.

Made a slight detour on the way back to Portland through Lassen Volcanic Park and had some great views on tight twisties. Also saw several more of our WFO attendees on the way back.

I can't even begin to tell you all how much fun WFO was. Thanks to everyone who had ANYTHING to do with it... which includes all the organizers, volunteers and EVERYONE who attended. You all are a terrific bunch of people and I can't wait to do it again... next year, I won't have a TICKER! :lol:

I hope everyone had a nice ride/drive/flight home. I'm looking for my new home in CA and JUST got internet access. I'll pay hell trying to keep up with all the stories, but I'll give it a try. If anyone directs something to me, just be aware that I'm checking sporadic... I'll get it eventually.

Again, thanks to everyone and ride safe... or have fun no matter how you ride!

That certainly gives us something to think about but the reason WFO was so outrageous didn't have a damn thing to do with Yamaha USA, it was outrageous because of the organization, communication, and execution of the WFO-5 staff and volunteers. The plan was great, everyone knew what, where, and when everything was happening, and everything started and finished on time.

Even the chronic complainers (like me) didn't have anything to complain about -- WFO-5 was by far the best motorcycle event I have ever attended.
