Chees UHs. That thing is gi-normous. I can't imagine scooting around on the FJR around a corner and seeing that in front. It'd be like major Tempations: No where to run to, no where to hide.

Saw this mentioned on Saturday since the highway was closed. Pretty good chunk of rock there. With the amount of rain we've had the last week it's no wonder that there haven't been more slides. Most roads up here in the sticks are pretty dirty now too!

The roads are pretty scummy with gravel and debris. I did the back roads today ( carpenter and the rest into Granite Falls and I had to keep the speed down, but as always it was still great!

Holly Molly! But come on, you COULD still squeeze by on the left there, albeit very slowly...

I have not ridden this road on a bike yet, but from driving it in my car I remember this to be a nice twisty one, right?

Definitely nice and twisty in spots. Leavenworth is about 90 minutes away for me, so this is a fun run to make on those summer week day evenings...Weekends kinda stink with the eastbound traffic in the mornings and the massive westbound back-ups on Sunday afternoons.

Looks can be deceiving. The rock left a 5 foot deep hole all the way across the road. Unless you like climbing up the side through the dirt and gravel, it was not passable according to those that saw it first hand.

Figured it did some pretty good damage to cause the cracks in the asphalt that show. Any idea how far up the hill it fell from?

The road through Leavenworth's OK, although very busy and heavily travelled/enforced at times.

The nice twisty road you're probably remembering is Highway 20 - the "89 Miracle Miles" running east from Marblemount. Some fairly technical stuff with lots of elevation change, plus tons of higher speed sweepers and with views to die for!

I guess that sounds like what I remember. It's been a while since I was in that area. Might not be so long before I get back there though now that I have my FJR.....
