Taking the FJR into Hattiesburg Cycle next Tuesday for the TPS sensor recall. Talked to sales dept, inquired if by chance they might happen to have one of these in stock??? hmmmm?????

there response.................yes we do happen to have 2 as a matter of fact, while you wait on your service work would you like to consider test riding one?????

ummmm :dribble: :dribble: YEA!!!!

ok see you Tuesday, ask for Chris :yahoo:

Man oh man, I really hope I'm not impressed, if I end up trading in my feejer and ride home with this monster Duke I'm gonna be in the sh*t house w/wifey for a long while.

The May issue of Cycle World has a review of one. Sounds pretty cool. Has very good HP and Torque. On the dyno runs with the Aprilia Tuono with more torque and slight hp advantage to 8,000. Vibration levels at 70-80mph in 6th was nill. Subtitle on the cover, "Is it the world's best streetbike?"

donaldb - you go for it. Never a better street fighter has been made. One ride, you are DONE.

My first ride, I was popping wheelies, jumping curbs, backing 'er in...

don't ride unless you intend to buy...

have you watched the video of it? i remember seeing one a couple years ago, maybe it was last year, whenever it came out (not to the u.s.), and it looks like a totally balls-to-the-wall hooligan bike. if i had that kinda $ burning a hole in my pocket i'd buy one.

My dealer has one on the floor. :dribble: Sadly, there is not more room in the garage for another ride - or so scowls the SO.

If I had the cash it would be on my shortest of short lists. And the only one in the category........But right now it is one bike only for a few years with the wife facing a layoff possibility. If you can talk SO into the payments/cash outlay. Do her. Life is too short.... blah blah

We'll see what happens. I'm glad I'm pushing 50 for the practicality of it all. If I was 20 years younger I would already know the answer. But I enjoy the storage space of the FJR and the touring comfort and element protection all too much to really consider trading it in. I commute on it to work too much and I like being able to stow my riding gear before entering my office bldg and not looking like robo cop. This bike is more for local and day trips..........I think..........or that's what I keep telling myself. Like TWN said it would make a terrific stable mate, but, I'm thinking, at least at this point, that if I had to pick only one bike it would still have to be a sport tourer. At this point all I can afford is 1 bike.

While I can easily see myself on this bad boy deep in the twisties, it's getting to the twisties and back from MS that has me concerned.....................and I aint trailering. :angry2:

We shall see what happens after the test ride <_<

No ride yesterday. I had to call Hattiesburg Cycle service dept and cancel my appointment yesterday morning. We had a pretty heavy rain event here in MS yesterday (most all day) and I did not want to weather the storm.....(yea I know....I'm pretty much a fair weather rider) and I doubt H'burg cycle would want me out test riding the bad boy in nasty weather. Hattiesburg is about a 90 mile trip from where I live. I'm still looking forward to the test ride and I hope to maybe get it all rescheduled possibly for next week. I would like to get this TPS done before my trip to Barber's for the AMA races 4/20-4/22. When I get this apt put back together...........and get-r-done I'll get it posted right up.
