I just spoke to Glen over at FJRGoodies.com and he informed me that the FJR tankbag has been discontinued. So I was wondering if anyone had one that they possibly weren't using or a gently used one that they wouldn't mind selling.

Deja Vu,

ordered one this morning from - https://tinyurl.com/2dnr2g

best price I could find without begging for a used one....and at that price, why not? ;)

That might be my only option. I was looking for the FJR specific one, but if nobody has one then I'll keep that in mind. Thank you.

Those do come up for sale from time to time around here and, on rare occaision, on Ebay. I have one...one of two different tank bags that I use on a semi-regular basis.....and like it a lot. Kind of big for short trips, but awesome for the longer ones. It's worth hunting one down if you can be patient.....

Sadly, patience isn't exactly a virtue of mine, but I appreciate knowing that it's worth the wait.

I've had my eyes peeled for one for a while...

I've only seen a couple, one I was too late for and the other one was way too much at the time.

Sucks that it's discontinued wonder if there are any over seas to be had reasonably.

Well if I find two, I'll let you know.

Try a Canadian dealer -- I got mine (old style -- like you're looking for) from a dealer in Ontario. Good exchange rate (back then) and free shipping. That tank bag wasn't really a U.S. accessory, at least initially, I don't think? But the Canucks seemed to have plenty. Maybe? call around, who knows, there may be a dealer that still has one he'd like to get rid of?

Anyway, looks like they have an up-dated model.....?

I appreciate the info. The updated version doesn't look too bad either. It bothers me that you can go on pretty much any other countries yamaha website and find a lot of accessories that simply aren't offered here.

Like frame sliders for example. I think most would agree that if they were offered we'd buy them with the bike. A lot of you guys suggest it as the first farkle so why not buy them with the bike!? I guess Yamaha doesn't like making money.

As for the new bag, I work for a Swedish company and may be able to work something out with a guy I know across the pond.

I'm still open for a used one of the older model though so if someone's got one, PM me and I'll take it.

Be glad you've got the bike.... Yamaha Cypress didn't even want the bike into the U.S.! If it hadn't been for a good effort on the part of some enthusiasts (and giving deposits, sight un-seen) there probably wouldn't be a U.S. FJR?

As for Cypress -- they may still consider the FJR on: "trial basis"...? :(

Good choice....wish you luck. Mine's kind'a like the trunk on a small car -- I'm not always sure I even know what's all in there....
