Well I got my bike back from the shop Saturday and rode it home in the rain. I took it up to Coloma Sunday morning for my first real ride since I had the accident and believe me I realize it wasn't a "bad" accident...Just a rib broken..no rash (I was wearing all my gear) but bad to me or my worst I guess.

I thought about getting a smaller cruiser but after today I don't think I will..This bike looks/rides awesome...keeping her..I guess the accident made me wanna sell her..*shrugs*

I'll prolly ride a bit slower than I did thou...lol!~

RR, glad you're back on the bike. Just take it easy. Take the time to practice braking and turning (figure 8's) in a parking lot. The real task is overcoming the mental aspect of post-crash riding. It's been over a year since my incident and though rare, I still have nagging thoughts and emotions. The silliest thing is that they come in the middle of a corner (my accident happened on a curve when someone crossed over into my lane and forced me of the road), and there is no predicting when they will occur. It's only the fact that I'm aware of the issues and have practiced cognitive thought over emotional reaction, trust my FJR and practice good habits that get me through the "rough" times.

Glad you were not hurt seriously and able to get your bike repaired and able to get back on and take her for a test ride. I think everyone that has had an accident happen to them usually cast some doubt about whether they want continue on riding.

I have been in a nasty auto accident that almost cost me my life I had doubt about driving but over came that fear and do not think about it or let it haunt me .

remember, time has a way to heal those thoughts
