Teams / riding buddies just means double the fun. In last years Rally-Rallye after the forth bonus location I paired up with Silver Ranger for the rest of the day and we had a blast. It started as a necessity as he lost one of his bonus pages and my gps sucked, but it made the day a ton more fun. We had actually planned our routes exactly the same. Have fun this year!!!!

I know I've seen it somewhere, but where is the 7:30 am rider's meeting? Unless something changes with work I won't have the luxury of being able to get there early enough tonight to learn my way around.

I built my rally route around a visit to the Decorah Ice Cave. I've been to a lot of the caves in this region (the boat ride tour of Spook Cave is a favorite) but hadn't heard about the ice cave. So I looped over into Minnesota, down into Iowa and back up through Wisconsin. First stop was the Southwind Apple Orchard, then the ride along Hwy 12 from there to Nodine set the tone for the day - lot's of wonderfully twisting roads with elevation changes; many I hadn't been on before.

Rounding the turn after the Decorah Ice Cave bonus I stopped for fuel, a bit to eat and a cup of coffee at Burl's Eat Here Get Gas where I was served the nastiest excuse for a piece of pie that I have ever beheld. Ate it anyway and got back on the bike. As I was getting my gear on a local asked where I was headed (Mt Hosmer and the Lansing bridge) and suggested I take the Old Stagecoach Rd - good call stranger!

Over into Wisconsin the luck of the Irish worked my way. In the packets handed out at the riders meeting that morning was a bonus for Hysterical markers, 500 points for each state historical marker, and years ago I had loaded Benron's waypoints of all the WI historical markers into my gps. That mady it pretty easy to Hoover up points as I headed up to Westby then back over to the barn.

A great day riding wonderful roads and seeing interesting sites. I even won my own cheese curds from Westby back! My biggest surprise is that no one had their bonus sheet blown away by the stiff breeze we had.

Good work Rick!
