This is a spin-off thread from the one about LEO's, where a cop asked some gray-haired riders to help with traffic.

A few years ago I was living in an eastern Long Island hotel on a long-term assignment and suddenly the hotel was filled for a weekend by the Hell's Angels. This wasn't the dive you might associate with the Angels, it was a Marriott or similar. Anyway, the group took over one of the parking lots for their bikes and even posted guards, making it look like a tough weekend, but they did stop the locals from breaking into the rental cars that night.

At breakfast it became apparent that there were two groups, the smaller of which were the younger more hard-core types who had been the parking lot guards. The big eye opener was that most of the crowd were all these gray-haired guys and couples hitting the breakfast pancake line with walking canes, bifocals, saying "excuse me" to get through the restaurant, and talking about grand-kids and their toys!

hmmmmm, I live on eastern Long Island. There isn't a chain motel within 30 miles of here and the "locals" don't usually make a habit of breaking into cars.....sure your not thinking of western Long Island? :glare:

OK, I had to look up an old expense report and think it was the Medford Comfort Inn, but we kept having to swtich hotels along 495 so am not positive. The Marriott was indeed to the west of that. The folks we worked with refered to the area as eastern LI, but I'm sure you'd consider it central or western.
