After an all evening, Post Wake circumnavigation of the Phoenix Metro area to drop off one vehicle and pick up the one I was to bring home, thank you for your help George. I left Apache Junction at 0730 this morning in a Nissan Pathfinder. All was well until the temperature gauge began to climb about 29 miles south of Pueblo CO. A stop at an auto parts store with a well lit parking lot revealed steam between the radiator and the engine. The expansion tank was empty, and, when after a cool down period, the radiator cap was popped there was a vesuvial like eruption. Two gallons of Anti Freeze later the radiator seemed full. Rather than press on to Colorado Springs I found a room here in Pueblo and will be first in line at the local garage in the morning. More later :(

That's too bad John, the Pathfinder seemed like a decent rig on our little adventure. Hope it turns out to be something simple.

You're welcome for the assist...it's not often I get to see all of Phoenix in an evening!

It may be too late for you already at this point, but I've dealt with the folks at Rocky Mountain Cycle Plaza before (at least the ones up in Colorado Springs), and they seemed fair.

I'll PM you with my contact details if I can help in any way (I'm up in Denver now, but I used to live in Colorado Springs)

EDIT: Reading is hard...missed the part where you're in a cage. Don't know any good car mechanics down in Pueblo, but if you can get up to the Springs, I can recommend Aspen Auto Clinic (particularly the "Tutt" location): https://www.aspenautoclinic.com/directions-to-our-auto-repair-shop-tutt

Offer still stands if I can help somehow

Problem solved this morning after a drive to Denver in a borrowed vehicle to pick up a Chinese replacement Radiator. OEM Radiator $757, Chinese Radiator $267. 4 hours labor to R/R $607. Left Pueblo at 1630, stuck in Lusk WY now due to slick roads and Blizzard like conditions. 90 miles to Spearfish :(

John, it looks like your sucking up every last bit of adventure you can pack in to one car shuttle trip to AZ. Good luck getting home tomorrow.

Oh, I forgot to thank you for jinxing me.

I flew home from Florida Thursday. My nose started plugging up before I got off the plane, and sat home all weekend sicker than a dog.

Replacement radiator for a rig with less than 50K on the clock...maybe beauty was only skin deep on that Pathfinder!

Hope you're home safe now.
