Does it mean you're not the favorite any more when your fresh load of ethanol-free gets siphoned off so the new toy can fire off?

A still pic just won't do, you've got to hear this

Like the FJR, when the governor levels off in third gear, we're going scary fast

IHC! I learned to drive on a C in the 4th grade but moved up to the H soon after. I've spent many hours behind the wheel of an H on the farm in central Minnesota.

I have a IHC refrigerator in my shop that still works great.

Thanks for sharing, very nice.

That is so cool!

So where's the red barn?

...and when are you going to get a Johnny Popper to put alongside it? :clapping:

My grampa had both and I still love hearing the sounds that both of those tractors made.

Watching your video, I could almost pretend that I was still on my grampa's lap...shifting the gears... :)

But does it have a Russell seat? And a Power Commander? Where are you going to mount a Topcase?

My grandfather had one when I was 12-13 years old. He would let me drive it while disking for his spring planting. Never could lay down a straight row.

Very cool! What year is it?
39-53. Can't read the whole serial number.

Anybody who spent their youth around machinery like this (not a safety switch anywhere) reached adulthood with Darwin's seal of approval!

That is so cool!

No red barn. Don't even know what a Johnny Popper is.

I didn't even intend to collect this one. By brother is doing some work for a recently widowed young woman with a 15 year old son. She told him to get that deathtrap out of here. I guess it was the husband's toy. Since my brother has no place to put it he asks me to come and get it. Says he thinks I can get it running. I put him off for months. The tractor is 60+ miles away. I'm picturing a rusty POS that will just be in the way and that I really don't need anything else to work on. I finally get up there with a trailer and I'm blown away by the condition. Apparently it was restored a few years back but then sat around with a near empty fuel tank. I clean out the tank and carb, charge the battery, and she fires right up. Makes me grin ear to ear.

Sorry all, for the slow reply. Daily tstorms have me mowing like crazy and any lightning strike within earshot knocks out my cable/internet for 3 days.

Now that's cool ! Don't get yer cuff caught in one of those PTO's..I have a '60 JD track loader with a Detroit diesel..strange motor-2 cylinder, 2 stroke, fuel injected and supercharged..

Yep-I had a JD 40 crawler Johnny Popper...think it had a 270 degree crank . I used a Cherry Bomb glass pack for a muffler and it sounded a lot like a Harley but more power and prolly faster too

I learned to drive at the ripe old age of 6 on a Ferguson (same size as a Ford 8N) and graduated up to a MD (like yours, but started on gas, then switched to diesel) which gave way to a IH560 and a D6 crawler. I was a big time equipment driver before I was even close to old enough for a driver's license. Your new find is pretty cool, but you really ought to find a way to hook up your blender to the PTO!

Great find. Thanks for showing us.

Spent Friday morning at a vintage tractor show in Monroe, Wash. Some of those old tractors and stationary engines [300 lbs and 4/5 hrs] are just awesome.

Like CAJW, I was raised on a ranch. We spent the summer growing and harvesting alfalfa, grains and corn to feed the herd. I lived on a Ford 8n for most of my early grade school summers.

Was a little put out when I heard the town kids got Saturday and Sunday off ... <_<
