Yes, a highly contentious topic title I'll admit...

But before I say anything else, I will also admit that if it wasn't for that "oh-holy-christ-we-forgot-to-put-on-an-exhaust-system" after-thought of a muffler on the new Connie, there could just as easily be one of those sitting in my gargage instead of an FJR (yes, looks are important). I just thought it was mildly funny that the folks (ok, one guy) over on the C-14 board noted that the Connie is being discussed here and a rather subjective debate ensues. Ah, love the one you're with, right?

For the easily amused amongst us (me included) https://www.concours.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=35316

It doesn't read much different than this forum. So what?!?! Most of them are just like most of us in that they bought the best bike for themselves. I figure about 90% of the C-14 owners can outride me, just like 90% of the FJR owners do. Next question?? Now....let's go riding!

What % of the KLR riders can out crash you? :p

Very well put. Thank you. .............thank you.

BFD! Ride what you like, ride it when you like, ride with who you like.

Funny thought to myself......They killed Connie. YOU *******S! Too much South Park I guess.

There was one truth written on that forum: We are living in the "Good Ole Days" of motorcycling. More choice is a good thing.

Listen, my former friends and riding companions, nobody can crash a KLR like I can...nobody! If you think riding your bike is fun, you should try the helicopter ride to the emergency room.....

 Do I even dare ask WTF happened..?? I've ridden in more than my fair share of helicopters (with a few really hair-raising trips thrown in for good measure), but I've got to admit that you've got me beat on the ride to the ER. That's a ride that I hope I'll never have to take! <looking around the room for the most solid piece of wood I can find to touch...>

Well, you'd have to look here and here and here. That should bring you up-to-date. I'll probably be home for another 6 weeks or more until back to as normal as I can be.

I'd be cautious about teasing Mike too much. Most of you will be leaving your bikes under his care in Denver :assassin: :assassin:

Duh! I'd actually read about your accident but for whatever reason hadn't put 2 + 2 together..! I'm certainly glad to hear that you're on the mend!

I've not yet had a bad get-off, but I get a major case of sphincter pucker every time I read about someone that has. I always work from the assumption that it will happen to me and, despite all my best efforts, it's a question of when and not if. Hopefully, it won't be anytime soon..!
