Yes, but it's their god-given right to talk on their cell phone and drive at the same time. I mean, how are the going to put their liquor orders in? :alcoholic:

Besides, if you think the tobacco companies were a tough group to tame, just try to ban cell phones while driving and see what the cell phone companies can do!

"Driving while talking on a cell phone is as bad as or maybe worse than driving drunk," said Drews, who said alcohol was involved in 40 percent of the 42,000 annual U.S. traffic fatalities.
O.K, so how many of those involved cell phone users? I just love creative statistics. Figures don't lie but liars sure can figure.

So, is it bad when I'm drinking, driving, smoking and answering my cell when I am on my scoot?

True.

At least someone who is perhaps a little over the the BAC limit will at least be trying to be extra careful. The average soccer mom yapping on the phone while barreling down the road in her Suburban has no such goal. Nor does daddy's little princess in the BMW.

I didn't read the article but I can see the point. Also, TC is right, they need to split out drunks who were on the phone when they got in trouble. It skews the data.

Cheers,

Jim

Oh, the avs are back up? I thought I wrecked those? Ok....let me sit down and think aboot my next avatar.

That loveseat costs a grand. Check out funkysofa.com. I want it so bad I'd almost shoot heroin for it.

Here in Oz you can't use your cell unless it's hands free, and we have one of the biggest cell ownerships in the world. A bit confused as to what the Cell Phone Companies could do anyway? We have ******s here who text while they drive! Fuckwits!

Ciao

I lived near in NH near the mass border for about five years. One time I needed to commute to Boston during the rushhour morning traffic. Its like the Talladega speedway, everyone is going 90mph and traffic is bumper to bumper, at most 10ft. separating cars. The I pass the a guy reading his newspaper during all of this, had it propped up on the steering wheel  Scared the hell out of me.

Never did that commute again, wonder what its like now with cell phones.

People who talk on cell phones while driving, even using "hands-free" devices, are as impaired as drunken drivers, researchers said Thursday

So, is it bad when I'm drinking, driving, smoking and answering my cell when I am on my scoot?
Heck no, It's just giving you more options and opportunity. When you hear your funky ring tone , grab that red flip sofa cell phone B) Second thought, Bad = No Helmet. Better park it now.
