I used to buy magazines. I especially looked forward to association magazines like the AMA magazine that had articles by readers that weren't employed as writers.
Threads like https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/169310-wheaton-and-wifey-north-by-northwest/ and https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/168993-windsong-of-the-west/ I would nominate to the FJR forum hall of fame. Not just because of the "I went here and saw this " factor but also the part that other forum members played in these adventures. And then there is the hppants channel too. I've also been checking out Revzilla's "Common Tread" quite a bit too https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/when-your-dad-rides-off-the-side-of-a-mountain .
Stuff like this makes any magazine that I've picked up recently a disappointment.
