Panama Canal Crosser
Our epic EOM event in Wytheville VA, 2016.
I'll center more on what wasn't posted already, save you about 100 more images that your eyes will thank you later.
Plans were to meetup with Mike (Wine Guy) and Rick (Pura Vida) in Bradford PA for a 9am breakfast Weds AM. So I mentioned to Debbie "Say, let's stay the night in Bradford prior (Tuesday), do up some drinks and dinner and take in the town?" Without hesitation, my honey says "Sure, sounds great!". (I have her now trained, what KJ plans is good, just go with it!) lol.
So Yelp reviews brought us to this watering hole
Only issue is/was.... (for us non smokers anyways).... they allow smoking in bars in PA. Man, we are not use to this anymore. Immediately smelled the stale smoke upon entry. Nasty!
It was "Taco Tuesday", not all that worthy of food **** but for a $1 a piece, I guess I can't complain.
Bradford's 2 claim to fame's are; Brad Penn Oil (factory/refinery) and the home of Zippo lighters (and museum).
Weds AM (meetup day w Mike and Rick). Bradford is a pretty good meetup town for me merging up with the Kanadians, eh! ...Rick being from Vermont, stayed the night with his daughter in Buffalo, so this worked out for him as well.
This "Chef's 117" restaurant place was all 5-stars for us guys. Rick getting his phone out to capture his morning food ****.
I had a couple of eggs (benny style) with Strawcakes, friggen soooo good!
I'd highly recommend this as a b-fast stop to anyone! The bathrooms seemed to engulf Mike's attention, not that he 'had' to use them, just on how pristine and beautiful they were.... this was a new one for our food **** want list!
Weds ride down was zero slab, with a 1-mile "shortcut" on packed gravel. The day was awesome, we all had a great time riding some very good PA roads w no traffic.
One of my planned rest/stops was Ohiopyle, I was here once before during the TIV Rally, liked the beauty so much I thought newbie (Rick) would enjoy it. So another Reee-visit!
Weds nights stay-over was in Fairmont WV where we converge with Chuck (bkerchuck) and his lovely wife Mona, and also another Kanadian Phillip (graytaz). I knew Chcuk & Mona were meeting us, Phillip was a surprise... a good one as hit fit right in with us knuckleheads.
Some EOM scenes
PoPo w Kev (Abercrombie)
Note the 3 cop cars!, holy shazitts! Our standards have (now) been raised for bringing in the popo after a day ride to EOM homebase. BUT!!! it seems Lisa (LCB) and Kevin were wrongly identified as "the wreckless drivers". Afterwards, Kevin explained who the real goons were! cough-cough, Marty and Petey!
The lovely Ms Tyler
Paint Bank VA.
Scott (Blind Squirrel), Rick (Pura Vida), Debbie, Chuck (bkerchuck)
BBQ master "Jon"
Blue water
Learn the talk baby!
They're famous for the Buffalo burgers, so I had one.... delish!
Ms. Healthy...
Mike's looked dang good also!
Animal lover
Back on the ranch (home base)...
....many of the pics posted here already (in EOM pic post), so I'll bypass mine, but I did have to post one of the Twins! say, which one is Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger?)
Had a blast, everyday, every hour. This is definitely the "epic" must-attend event of the entire riding year.... bar none! (sorry left coasters, you must venture this way in the fall to experience it!).
Thanks to Wayne and Company!.... lots of hard work, and it went downt (Appalachian slang) without many hitches!
Cheers to all the volunteers, vendors and sponsors.
