I went to the Yamaha dealer here in Surprise. They have a 2007-Black FJR. From what the sales guy told me, the purchaser wanted a new 2009 but in Silver. So they swapped out the body parts from the new 2007 with their new 2009. So on the showroom floor, they have a 2007 FJR in Black and some guy in AZ is rifding around in a silver 2009.

Personaly, I like the bike in Black

Not uncommon. Done by some dealers as early as '03 and '04 with the two shades of silver. Usually a customer request.

Not all that unusual at all.

Two of us in the El Paso area are riding 07' A models (the red one) with silver AE plastic on them.

The dealer did it at our request. They still have at least one of those 07' AEs wearing the red skirt if you want one.

I've got a red 06 AE because someone wanted its silver color instead of the color 07 A model's red. I thought it was unique until I started nosing around. It turns out to be a lot more common than I would have thought. Meanwhile, my favorite colors would be either the red or the black, so I was happy with the trade.

Yup,

I too get bored sometimes with my 07A Black Cherry. Even though she is striped up so purdy like. I would consider a swap for the black too!

'07's were red? Did I miss something? Saw a real nice-looking red bike at NAFO, thought it was rare....

Smart purchaser. Cerulean forever!

Why does noone go with rainbow colors?
What year was that?
