So I decided to use those United miles for something since I can’t ever actually use them for a flight, and got myself a new camera – Nikon D5000. It’s a nice camera and I know I have a long way to go before using it properly but thought I’d get out and see what it could do.
Sunday was another one of those horrid California winter days… blue skies, wispy clouds, just around 70 degrees. So, while OM was out finding 20 of something, out I went on the Clifford for a shortish jaunt with some friendly spirits, Susan, Michael, and Sue. We decided to start with the Uvas/Watsonville loop, then Roop, Gilroy Hot Springs Rd, and Canada Rd before scooting home. The roads were in good condition, a little wet in a few spots, and there wasn’t much traffic to speak of.
Calero Reservoir
My traveling companions for the day… it was like the good old days.
Uvas Rd.
How could I pass up this orchard? Day Rd.
Roop Rd.
Gilroy Hot Springs Rd.
Giving the moving shot a try… Michael.
End of the road – Gilroy Hot Springs closed down many years ago. We ran into a gent named Zack who was on his dual sport. He is an active member of HHORA so we chatted about dirt riding, etc. He mentioned that there was talk of possibly rebuilding the hot springs area… time will tell.
Sue and Michael on the bridge
Susan was game to give the Spyder a go so off she went… I think it was an eye-opening experience for her! Lol
Canada Rd.
And one last parting shot taken the previous evening at sunset… the colors on the clouds this time of year are always fascinating… so different in texture and color and mood!
Palm trees at sunset… can’t get much more California than that!
Thanks for looking!
