So I decided to use those United miles for something since I can’t ever actually use them for a flight, and got myself a new camera – Nikon D5000. It’s a nice camera and I know I have a long way to go before using it properly but thought I’d get out and see what it could do.

Sunday was another one of those horrid California winter days… blue skies, wispy clouds, just around 70 degrees. So, while OM was out finding 20 of something, out I went on the Clifford for a shortish jaunt with some friendly spirits, Susan, Michael, and Sue. We decided to start with the Uvas/Watsonville loop, then Roop, Gilroy Hot Springs Rd, and Canada Rd before scooting home. The roads were in good condition, a little wet in a few spots, and there wasn’t much traffic to speak of.

End of the road – Gilroy Hot Springs closed down many years ago. We ran into a gent named Zack who was on his dual sport. He is an active member of HHORA so we chatted about dirt riding, etc. He mentioned that there was talk of possibly rebuilding the hot springs area… time will tell.

Susan was game to give the Spyder a go so off she went… I think it was an eye-opening experience for her! Lol

And one last parting shot taken the previous evening at sunset… the colors on the clouds this time of year are always fascinating… so different in texture and color and mood!

Palm trees at sunset… can’t get much more California than that! ;)

Great photos Tyler. I think you and the camera are going to be great friends.

And now to scold you for putting up that m/c ****.

We had temps around -10 (F!) this morning, 2 ft of snow on the ground and more forecast for this week. I trust it will be quite a while before you see too many ride reports from the northeast.

I thoroughly enjoyed the pics. Helps to bring back many good memories from the California portion of my coast to coast to coast back in '09.

More please!

Nice, Ty!

I'm back in the camera market myself.

I'm finally convinced that dropping mine from my (moving) motorcycle may have adversely affected it

One of these days, I would love to follow you around some of your favorite hand picked back roads! :)

Beautiful photography!

Aw, man. Saw that title and I hoped there'd be a link to some ****.

Extremely vivid colors, Tyler. Wonderful photos, of course. I mean, YOU took 'em.

Holy cow, it could not have been a nicer weekend

for January, huh?

(Probably snowing on Whidbey Island. Blech!)

This girl can take some nice pic's OM. Between the two of you I so want to come down for a visit. Well maybe have D Carver show me a road or two also.

Tyler very wel done!

I'm kinda thinking that a certain breakfast might be special come May.

Would love that, Sammy... look at your calendar after March and let's find a date. :cool

I think you're hoping for a link to **** pretty much anywhere... ;)

Indeed... I actually took the liner out of my jacket because I was too warm (that and I was getting on and off the bike so many times to take pics... gettin' a little overheated! :D )

Very nice photos, Miz Tyler!

I was happy to have 63 degrees here today.
Hey, 63 ain't too bad! Didja get out for a jaunt??

Couple more pics taken by my friend, Michael... he is an amazing photographer and something I aspire to some day!

A few of you have had the pleasure of meeting, Sue... between the two of us, we have had about 12 surgeries and 6+ months in the hospital from our incidents... yet we have been graced with the gift of angels and miracles...

Speaking of angels, they made fun of my shirt... I don't know why... ;)
