Makes sense if you don't wear a helmet! Personally, the only thing I'm comfortable with around my neck are Lorie's arms!!

My Dad's flight gear from WWII includes a throat mike...hmmmm 70+ year old technology....where might that fit in....

I have an older set,

they do work, and very clear - (IF),

You have to find the correct spot on your throat,

Other wise they will sound muffled.

I had a hard time keeping them in the right place while riding. I found myself constantly adjusting them back to where my voice was clear.

I was debating on using medical tape to hold the mike in the correct place,

but what a pain also.

I tried a couple with radios we use on our hunting trips. They were very sensitive to location on the throat. Worked ok (not great) when I could find the sweet spot, but useless if not in the perfect place.
