Got my Morgan carbtune in the mail the other day, took about 5 days. This past weekend I did my first tbs and everything went just fine. The bike is a 05 with almost 26k and one had never been done. I figured it would be way out but it was easely within specs so I didn't touch a thing. Entire operation took about 45 minutes start to finish. Real slick little rig. I didn't make any adjustments but now I have peace of mind that everything is ok. Wouldn't have had a clue without the forum. :yahoo:

Glad to hear everything went well. Where did you purchase it and how much did it cost? The only one I've heard of is the Motion Pro that costs around $100. I haven't had to sync carbs/tb in a long time but it's coming up on me.

Yay! I finally have a source in the US! I have the old mercury filled Motion Pro unit, which is very nice and doesn't need any sort of setup.

In the interest of the environment, a friend bought the new Motion Pro unit, which uses a different fluid, and must be internally synchronized each time you use it. You connect all the inputs to one line with a 4->1 connector, and either hook the one line to a carburetor or to one of those mity-vac type hand vacuum pumps. You then turn screws until they all line up. Well, we couldn't get one of the columns to line up, plus there was air bubbles that we couldn't get out, no matter how long we let it sit, or how we tapped it or whatever else we tried. Eventually we just returned it and used my mercury one. I bought 8oz of mercury from United Nuclear, in case there's a ******* embargo on selling mercury or something. Heck, you can't even buy the old mercury style units themselves now.

He wants a Carbtune, but didn't want to buy it from overseas, so he'll be happy to hear this. One question is there any sort of setup with the Carbtune besides just hooking it up? From what I can tell from the website there isn't, but I've always wanted to ask someone that had one.

Setup comprises cutting the supplied clear tubing into four equal length sections (restictors) and installing them into the four hoses from the carbtune. Easy job and supplied instructions are clear

Thank you very much for the info. After hearing about how much work it is to set up the Motion Pro, I'm going with the Carbtune. I can't believe how useful this forum is in terms of money saved and headaches avoided. You all are great.

Or you can get one from directly from Morgan: Morgan Carbtune Nice folks, will ship directly from Belfast. 'Bout $125 freight and all. Took 10 days from Belfast to Seattle. Nice unit, easy setup, no fluids to spill, works like a charm. Two thumbs up.

CarbTune is great!

I've had mine for a few years now.

Had to go with a no-mecury balancer because I love my dog. Bought the unit directly from Morgan in the UK and I got it in about 8 days, no hassle.
